Prof. Dr. med. Peter Gierschik ist Professor emeritus und ehemaliger Ärztlicher Direktor des Instituts für Experimentelle und Klinische Pharmakologie, Toxikologie und Naturheilkunde am Universitätsklinikum Ulm (UKU). In der Vergangenheit war er u.a. auch Dekan der Medizinischen Fakultät der Universität und hatte diverse weitere Ämter in der Universität inne, u.a. als Ombudsperson der Universität Ulm von 2018 bis 2022. Als Wissenschaftler leitete er zahlreiche Projekte und wirkte in (inter-)nationalen Projekten mit, darunter verschiedene Graduiertenschulen und SFBs. Er bringt die Perspektive der klinischen Forschung in das Ombudsgremium ein.
Seit Januar 2026 ist Peter Gierschik Mitglieder im Ombudsgremium für die wissenschaftliche Integrität in Deutschland.
